It's been a while...
It is really good to see this site is still going strong. It has been a few years since I had to sadly part with my ZT, but always enjoy seeing them about, albeit getting a bit rare now.
My current work situation means I could do with a second car. Something cheap to buy and be reliable for monthly trips from West Sussex to Cardiff area. I see on auto trader some decent ZT's about for £3k or under. I wonder what the pitfalls of a 20 year old ZT would be? The local garage that used to look after my ZT still look after these and 75s (recently saw a lovely flip paint V8 ZT in there being serviced). Wise option or rose tinted nostalgia? Cheers David |

I daily drive my 24 yr old 75 with 204k on the clock and don't give it a second thought. I would guess a diesel would likely be the lower maintenance option.

Welcome back. If you shop around you can still get a good 75/ZT. They are out there.

My 22 year old KV6 75 is my main car. My annual mileage is only about 5-7000 miles a year though. It's been completely reliable thus far including a 530 mile trip round the South West.

I bought my 2.5 with 39k on the clock, and have added near enough 20k since September 2021. I've had a leaking thermostat (TADTS) and a failed coolant sensor. I also got the belts done as they were due. But it's only ever refused to start once, caused by that dodgy sensor, and where else could you get silky smooth V6 driving, full walnut and leather interior for much less than 4 year old Fiesta. |
