There are two versions of the looms excluding the different external lengths required for the tourer/saloon.

One has a large connecter and all black earth wires are separately wired, on the later version the connector is smaller and the black earth wires are merged together. The earlier connector (external + internal wiring) is much better and it is the external connector on the latter version, which this wiring solves, that is the problem.

The earlier version is not a problem, it is the latter version

I'll remove the rear bumper today and get some pics. Happy to help.

There are people selling them on ebay. I think I searched for BMW PDC sensor plug. That's the cheapest place for one-offs; the parts I found were a tenner for two plug kits. I'm buying bulk from a wholesaler for this group buy to keep costs down and help me recover the upfront outlay on the cost of the large 6-pin connector. If you're prepared to wait until I start ordering parts in for the group buy I might be able to add some to my order to make you a kit, but I can't say how much it will be until I get the quantities worked out to meet this order.

One thing to bear in mind is you need the correct crimping tool to fit the terminals to the wire and they're not especially cheap.

How-to on changing what, the loom or the sensors? Changing the loom is pretty simple, the most complicated bit is getting the bumper off to access the loom and then putting it back on. Fitting the loom is plug and play, no special tools required.

That would be great if you could.

Ideally I could do with a photo showing the wires going into the back of the connector and one looking down into the pins of the connector so I can see their arrangement to get the correct connector.

If you can get a shot of the loom laid out that would be useful too. I'd like to make sure the colour order of the wires isn't different.

Looking at the xpart EPC, there was a change of part for the harness at VIN 2D245554 build date 7th Feb 2002 so it might be that cars below that VIN are the larger plug connector, while those after that VIN the new one?

It would need a few members to report which plug they have to confirm this.

My Rover 75 (VIN 3D264538) has the later smaller plug

Another members car that I've seen (VIN 1D216052) has the earlier larger plug connector

EDIT:
Opps, looks like I'm too slow, post #24 already covers this
