Thank you
Just bought my first rover 75. It is the saloon version with the 2litre V6 engine on a 51 plate only 44k miles.

I always wanted a 75 from when they first appeared but they were always on the expensive side even in Ireland where road tax is punitive; 636 for the 1.8, 710 for the 2 litre and 1,050 for the 2.5.
Anyway I found the site from the web and did an enormous amount of research before buying a 2002 1.8 club with 110,000 miles on it. No tax, no test, no history, no service book, no handbook, airbag light on, ABS light on, some smoke on start-up and smells like an ashtray. Princely sum of 350 on 28th June 2013. The smell is now gone but the warning lights have me well exercised. I won't be spending any money on it until after the NCT (MOT) test on 28 August because the test centre will give me a definitive picture of the state of the car. At 350, I can afford to either spend what's necessary or scrap it and use it as a donor. I would buy another in a heartbeat and take all the useable parts off this one. I think the only likely fail, other than tyres, will be on emissions and depending on what the problem is exactly, I may well repair it and keep on motoring! |

Hi I got here by internet search about the Rover 75 airbag warning light staying on and a low clutch, after been told by uncle that if I could make sure the problems can be fixed I could have the car as he is buying a new car. Happily after finding this club and the info the Rover is now taking pride of place on my drive awaiting treatment

Thought I'd pop in and say hello - found you guys via Google after spotting a 75 and trying to find out a bit on what to look out for, before purchase. Sadly, it took me an hour to get to the dealer and the car got sold literally in front of my eyes - it hurt, but well - got another car for now. We'll be lurking around as I've set my mind on one, and hopefully in few months, something else worthwhile will come up
