My old Mazda 3 diesel company car had a push button start and keyless entry. You never had to remove the key from your pocket as it had some kind of proximity sensors.

A quick tap on the start button was key position 1, a normal press of the button would start the engine aslong as your foot was on the brake. So just one button press to start.

It's supposed to be a sporty touch too, but you'd press the button, glow plugs would so their thing then the tractor engine would rattle into life. It's the exact opposite of sporty! Even though that car was rapid, 2.2 diesel with 185bhp and 400Nm torque as standard!

I had one of the first big ***** Meganes is about 2002/3, it was a Priviledge so really well specced. It had a similar system but it was always going wrong. The number of times I had to use the emergency key in the passenger door was not funny.

If I was going to fit a start button it would have to be something a lot more classy than a big red Smartie stuck on the dash.

Why not retrofit a starter handle to the front of the bumper that would be the ultimate mod and very classy

No I felt that it may be a good thing to have in the car so I bought it, installed it, then removed it as it did not have the oem look plus I still used the key anyhow

AS they say:-

If the cap fits wear it!

At one point I did have a bike with an engine the same size as my ZT, no turbo though, Honda 1800 Goldwing.
