Morning Dek and welcome!

Various things to check on the KV6 and around the car but I guess you've read a lot already?!

1st and most important check the radiator cooling fan is working on all speeds

See my Trinary test:

http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...ad.php?t=35567

If faulty (very likely!)
Either consider a Rover kit (over £350 ouch)

Or this uprated kit which has proved totally reliable over the last 5 years.

Revotec kit:
http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...d.php?t=189409

Next check the coolant level and strength.
Needs to be 25% not 50% OAT
(MGR got this wrong)

2 very common areas of leaks on KV6:

No1
Plastic thermostat housing which is sat on top of the engine block inn the Vee.
Starts as a slow seap with coolant loss but no actual dripping.
Bad cases coolant will be seen dripping under the driver's side.
Also pungent smell will be apparent.

No2
Lower coolant rail.
Situated behind lower edge of radiator.
These metal pipes corrode gradually.
Later 20mm rail worse than the earlier 40mm pipes.

Check carpets for damp.
Loads to read on this especially if sunroof fitted:

Rear light seals (saloons only)
Uprated versions available

Modify sunroof drains.
See Arctic howto

Plenum drains.
Oodles written on this subject!

Handbrake;
Drive it 50 yards every month with handbrake applied.
(keeps rust of the drums)

Compensator upgrade available to restore the lever to 2 clicks fully on.

List goes on but this will do for now in hope we haven't scared you off yet ?!

Jules

PS
Feel free to email me if you have any queries [email protected]

Thanks jules, I brought my 75 v6 about three weeks ago. Has new tyres fitted straight away and all new discs and front brakes changed. Oil and filters changed then checked over well. Had a run down to Burnham on sea for the blue ridge runners show and back. Did Not miss a beat and so much power almost as good as my 5.7 v8 dayvan. Just need a few jobs done on the rover this week and im a happy chappy
