ENDED UP REALISING IT REALLY ISN'T PRACTICAL NOT HAVING A CAR TO GET AROUND AND I NOW OWN A VW EOS 3.2 V6 INDIVIDUAL (1 OF 20 REMAINING IN THE UK WITH THAT ENGINE AND TRIM COMBO) EVEN THOUGH I STILL LIVE ON A BUSY ROAD WITHOUT A DRIVE

Angry 11,000th post

Removed the ITP and left hand sender module from the ZT.

Fitted the single pump version ITP, and cross tank pipework.

Stopped for tea, then removed the battery box and UBP........hmm what's that? surely not a cracked contact on the UBP connector

Lobbed the battery back on the car, LP reading 405 KPa.

Job for tomorrow, replace plug on UBP loom, refit twin pump in tank pump and cross tank pipework/left hand side sender unit

Oh how I chortled

Brian

Yeah, just a bit Tony, I don't know what the moral of the story is.......perhaps it's time to get a new car, or just get shot of some

If you start getting rid of cars won't Mrs Marinabrian start asking were all the cars have gone out of the street Or does she know how many are yours now

It gave the exact symptoms of a knackered UBP, quick tap and away she goes, so an ideal opportunity to convert to a single pump system, which I had in stock, and save buying a new UBP.

It was only under close scrutiny after removing the UBP that the damage was seen, I've no idea what had caused it, possibly done by the back street garage that told the bloke I bought the car from a year ago, that it needed two new pumps, when in fact the ECM was submerged.

Certainly the plug has never been removed by me in the year I've owned the car.

Still there you go. another day if my life I can't get back

Why is it nothing is ever straight forward with these cars mate... I just wish I had your patience and resolve, nothing seems to phase you mate.
