In the army during the 70's out in Germany it was perfectly normal to drive in snow like that.

Can't see the problem. I agree with all those saying we've become a nation of wimps....

I find my 75 great in the snow, winter tyres on and I take a perverse delight in maintaning my normal schedule.

On another note i see no probs with winter caravaning, as a man who comes from a family who have been know to take a vintage boat out on the thames on boxing day, moor at our favorite island and BBQ dressed like arctic explorers I grew up thinking this sort of behaviour was normal!

I've just returned from a club weekend at Perth with my caravan and this morning it was white with snow but cleared before leaving at lunchtime, but I have to admit if I came across snow like that I would have stayed put.

I used to drive my MGB in Germany with the top down in the snow! Locals kids used to point at me. I became quite good at driving in ski boots!

This is awesome.

I am sick of living in a Nation where everything, and I do mean EVERYTHING, comes to a halt because of an inch or three of snow.

It is a Diesel Auto btw, very likely with T/C and then add Snow Mode, brilliant to tackle the White stuff

Just shows that you cant keep a part time pikey down

They will struggle through flood, fire and blizzard to clog up the roads and get in everyones way

Even recreational activity? Thankfully, some people are lucky enough to be able to turn keeping warm into a fun pass time.

Agreed, the picture is inspirational and brings a lump to the throat.
Maybe, if it looks like severe winters are going to become more common for us, better preparations will be made.
