Default Last One gone

Little bit sad our last rover 75 has just gone to the breakers it was our first rover 75 and our last 75. We have enjoyed owning Rover 75's for the last 12+ years all three were CDTi's one club tourer se/one duotone tourer and one saloon se.

That's a shame, the end of an era. That does seem to be happening rather a lot these days.

By the way, I'm curious about the time stamp on your post. (9:56 and today's date)? My time here, not too far from you, is 09:07.

As a rover owner, workmates often say I'm living in a time warp. Nice to know others are too...

The Wife wanted to down size plus the clutch master cylinder was playing up, then the wife demolished her mothers garden wall while trying to park on her mothers drive, scraping down most of the nearside. I find it hard to do some of the repairs as I suffer with arthritis and still work full time up to 70+ hours a week.

Unfortunately it’s called horses for courses. Getting older is something that we all have to face, like our cars.

I feel your pain. (Literally) It was knowing that my joints were getting worse and that car repairs were getting more difficult that made up my mind. To be honest, the car was in better fettle when it went, than when it came but I have always liked to do my own work. MOT preparation was once my full time job, keeping a fleet of HGV's, cars and small vans sorted and I never had a fail.

I loved the sheer luxury of the 75's but when you struggle to get out of it, something has to give! My Sportage is agricultural in comparison but it is a dream to get in and out of and very solidly built.

There were tears when the 75 went but time heals. As you can see, I am still here, so there is still a 75 pull but it is just an admiration now!

Chin up and carry on. Mike

Eddie, sad that you have to change the car, but understandable. Keep an eye on the forum as the knowledge you have built up will be useful to others.

Im not sure if this is accurate, but my understanding that there are just over 400 75s currently taxed and 100 or so SORN....that cannot be right surely?
Of course, ULEZ EXPANSION will see virtually all 75s including mine, vanish from within the M25.

The word that defines the context of the post is "our".
