Talking custom remap

Hi every one can any one tell me what reall sort of increase in bhp and torque i would see if i got my mg zt 190 a custom remap? I've all ready had a 200 cell sports cat fitted with a free flow exhaust plus a green cotton panel filter fitted and drilled a few hole in the airbox not for performance but for a better sound but i may fill some of the holes back in cause the nosie is a little bit loud altho throttle response has increased but acceleration seems to of decrease at certain rpm's.

About 10 -12 bhp, Normally Asparated engines dont respond as wll to remaps as forced induction engines do. However it will probably compliment your other modifications and smooth out the power delivery also.

See this link http://www.superchips.co.uk/search?m...9&variant=1081

A remap would cure this problem, as the amount of air getting in has increased then the fuel/air ratio may not be optimum ie running too lean!

The only problem I see is that remaps are about £300 ? About 10 bhp is not good value for money? Dave

Ok i see what your saying 10bhp for £300 but Will that extra 10bhp be noticeable and what Will the torque increase to and would it be noticeable? I want to squeeze what i can out of her but i don't want to go down the route of fast road cams

My 190 was remapped about 5 years ago with a superchips remap. With its induction set up and exhaust i noticed a difference in the midrange being a smoother torque curve, its willingness to pull more cleanly.Dont expect a huge difference, but a nicer more freer drive. The last time mine was rolling roaded which was a good number of years ago,it was showing 204BHP with its mods

Had my ZT190 remapped at a Superchips place. About 6 years ago

I hit 206bhp on the rolling road, so a gain of 16bhp.

TBH, I could not feel any difference, but with such a small increase, it's doubtful anyone would.

One thing I did notice, was the shove when the Vis system kicks in at around 3000rpm is barely noticeable now. So I guess there's more urgency below 3000rpm, which can only be a good thing.

Here's a copy of the RR print out: http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...s/IMG_0001.jpg

Was it worth the money? No, is the simple answer. NASP cars can only gain at most 10% increase.

I have however found another place that charge only £150. Tempted to get my SLK done, that'll give me almost 300bhp.
