Default Correct operating temp for 2.5v6 190

Hi peeps,
looking at 190 zt on saturday, was wondering whats the correct operating temp?

Pointy thing should be in the middle after about 3/5 mins of driving. (depending on how you drive.)

Should NEVER go above middle. If it does the damage is already done.

Sound advice there, if the gauge doesn't reach the middle then it could be a simple stat problem. Still an involved job but well worth it.

The temperature gauge is of little real value. It's designed to maintain a false sense of security, i.e. it shouldn't vary from 'normal' (the 9 o'clock position). If it does, it's probably more serious that you realise, so act immediately.

As for your question, the optimum running temperature is in the range 95-100C. Most 75/ZT petrol engines in their standard condition seem to run at 97+/-2C.

You can get an accurate picture of what's going on with your engine temperature by using the IKP diagnostic mode. This is described in this thread: http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...or+temperature

cheers guys for the temp info just one more question, can anyone give me the location for all the chassis numbers on the zt, iI've heard about the windscreen and pillar, are there any more?
