Technology is a wonderful thing, when it works! God help us when it doesn't.

It seems the haulage industry are following in the footsteps of SDV cars (software defined vehicles)

Look how they describe a lorry in the not too distant future, 'A programmable device'

Daimler truck & Volvo forge alliance for SDV software defined vehicles.

"Software-defined heavy-duty trucks represent a paradigm shift in the transformation of our industry.” He continues: “Making the truck a programmable device with standardized hardware and operating system for fast product updates will give both companies the opportunity to create value for our customers and their customers though differentiating digital services and solutions.”

What happens if someone cuts you up and keeps driving away, do the emergency anchors get deployed?

It also begs another question! Will we see a big disruption in the car insurance industry?
Warren Buffett of Berkshire Hathaway fame says it will be good for the safety of people but bad for the insurance industry.
