Default Lost Keys - What are the Options?

Hi.

Further to my Double Disaster Thread http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...d.php?t=136384I thought I'd post here too.

If you've lost the keys and have no spare what's the best way to put it right? I take it you need a new ECU, Keys, Ignition/Door/Boot locks?

Can you source the whole lot from a breaker as a set? Does it still need a T4 to code them?

Best way to break into a locked ZT? (PM please). The garage have failed to manage it.

Obtain a lock set from scrappy, if your car is a Mk2 then purchase a drivers side window.
Cover the window with parcel tape and break with a centre punch, fit the lockset from scrap yard followed by the drivers window.
Remove EWS 3 immobiliser unit and post it to me, I will then produce the working transponders required to start the car, see my signature link for prices
Lot cheaper than going down the new EWS lockset route, especially when you discover that T4 won't pair up your engine management with the replacement immobiliser ECU

Thanks Brian

All makes sense but Lovel suggested getting a new cut key via XPart which would preclude breaking the window and swapping all the locks which also makes good sense.

Just waiting on a call back from my local dealers with pricing info.

Annoying thing is - I was planning on sending you my EWS when I'm on holiday for 2 weeks this summer so you could do me a new key when we didn't need the car. Oh well, b est laid plans and all......

Go to Xpart or failing that Lates600 on here who's a bit cheaper, but it will take 5-10 days to arrive

And if you do have to break a window, make sure it's one that you can source a spare one of. DO NOT break the little quarter lights.

go to any ex MGR dealer with your vin number and they will be able to get you a new one but you will need a t4 sesion to get it programed to the car will be a lot easier than chainging all the locks and i think not more than £200

T4 is the plug in MGR diagnostic system, can programme keys and ECU's and other wonderful things....
