Default diesel gearbox

hiya.
looks like my gearbox in my cdti 04 is seconds away from giving up.
as anybody got a known working one without faults?

Lots of info on here. Do a search on "fluid change" and "solenoids". Either or both could and do cause problems.
Both can be a reasonably inexpensive fix, both can be done with the box in place.

hiya.
thanks for advise,
sorry forgot to mention its a manual gearbox I`m looking for
I checked the oil and it was at right level and very very clean, the box makes a heavy whining/knocking when applying throttle in 3rd,4th,5th and now 2nd.
