Given the huge hassle I had in trying to sell my 827, I can't see 75 values increasing much for a while. P6s are still not worth a great deal, nor are P4s, because, for some reason, Rovers don't appeal to the masses in the same way that some cars do.
I love my 75, and will own plenty more, I'm sure, but I will not be buying them expecting them to increase in value.

Why not put some money into that? It has much better heritage than this one.

I can't see that going anywhere Rich, Sean Car and myself offered our help for free, but it fell on deaf ears.

I must say thank you to the owner (peggyegg) for letting me have a look around the car and the paperwork that she has.

The launch car is in a sorry state having been sat there for 2 years, the Serpents are all curbed quite badly, the front bumper will need replacing and the parking sensors fitted to the rear bumper are an after market set so if they have been drilled in the wrong place then a new rear bumper would also be required, if not, the holes can be enlarged to retro fit a set of correct sensors and parts.

Half of the wood dash has been replaced with the plastic version but the broken part is still in the boot.

The 3rd brake light has become detached and hanging on its wires, the drivers door card is hanging off and the chrome trim around the release handle is broken.

The drivers seat surround which contains the memory buttons etc has also broken off, the O/S rear door lock pin seems to missing.

The neptune blue leather is not the best i have seen but on a car that's done 124K it represents the mileage it has covered as does the condition of the carpets and steering wheel.

Peggyegg has posted a picture of the rust area on the bonnet but looking around there are other signs of rust appearing on wheel arches and doors.

The autobox cooler has been damaged and this is were most of the residue of fluid is, i couldn't feel any damage to the autobox it self but as it has been run with no fluid it may be damaged.

The engine started ok and had a slight tappet sound but i didnt run it for long so that may disappear as the oil gets warmer, the engine in the car is not the original as it has had a replacement fitted.

As described on eBay one of the front springs has broken and therefore both sides will need to be replaced and as expected the disc's and calipers are very rusty as are large areas underneath the car.

The boot is bone dry and has shown no signs of any leaks, the Hi-Line components are also in working order.

I have tried to be as impartial as possible and just pass on what i have seen, as with any car there may be other faults/problems which don't materialise until you start looking deeper.

Even with my very limited knowledge I can see there is a great deal of restoration required. Quite possibly a sad ending for a rare car, regardless of it's 'poor heritage'. It's looking bleak.

Yes, there is a lot of work to get it back to an "as new" condition, however to getting it into a running state is much less.

It gladdens my heart to see such positive remarks. I would have thought the 'scrap it clan' would have been all over this. Hope renewed, I will continue to keep my fingers crossed.
