A seagull dawn chorus would remind me of holidays in Blackpool as a child We have Blackbirds, wood pigeons & Crows for our dawn chorus here,
Apart from one persistent blackbird, defending his territory, our main wake up call is from a load of tree rats - or wood pigeons as they are better known. Dead boring, 'cos they only sing one tune

Coo Coo

We have loads in the woods behind us,everytime we fill the bird feeders up a flock appears and they devour the lot.

Too hot Bob - for you, and the cars will dry streaky before you can leather them off.
Hay fever has stepped in so the cars will have to wait.

Hi all, a cool 23C today, sunny and dry. We were watching the Sky news this afternoon showing the Poole, Bournemouth and Christchurch beach jam packed with people, some shoulder to shoulder. I guess folks feel the need to cool off after being cooped up for so long with the restrictions. If that happened here, the beach goers would be discouraged from crowding through being beaten or shot by the police, hence the beaches are deserted. One of our nephews flew on a direct flight to the UK this morning. He is 17 years old and will go into quarantine for 2 weeks, then he is going up to Inverness to work on a large private estate for the summer - a work experience and a chance for him to have some money he has earned. His ambition in life is to go into farming/horticulture.

Hi Phil - 'tis a hot 27°C here - and very humid.
I would love to send some of the thoughtless people from here over to you, so that they could witness at first hand the level of clampdown that you report. We seem to have so many who feel that the advice/guidance/rules don't apply to them

Hi Rod, I know Angela, yourself and others have had to comply with the restrictions making sacrifices for your freedom. It must feel like a slap in the face to see those crowded beaches.

In the slums of Nairobi, social distancing is impossible. To explain why, when you have time, do watch this BBC documentary
made by a local journalist and published a week ago....

“The Bullet and The Virus”. https://youtu.be/Eb3rV5mhpmQ

Cool

We have rain, not much at the moment but at least I can breathe now.

A cold Henry Weston is waiting to be consumed.
