there are specialist sprays for this, and not too expensive. I would be concerned of two possible issues though. Firstly its adhesion (as with any paint), the plastics need to be degreased, and spotlessly clean, then plastic primer/adhesion promoter applied. The next issue I would be concerned if doing this myself, is if it reacted. Since there is a fine texture, removal of it, could be an issue to reapply.

If done correctly, I would say that painting would be the most permanent method.

I used bumper paint from Halfords, they do a bumper prep spray which removes all the silicones and any other contaminants on it and did it with that. Can't remember if it needed a primer or not now but covered it with a few light coats and it went on ok. This was it when I first did it. Will take another couple of pics tomorrow to show it now.

UPOL system 20 primer, it's aerosol based and is not just a plastic primer, it's an adhesion promoter, and used properly will allow a topcoat to stick very well with no flaking. It's the Dog's...

Autoglym seem to have two different versions - Bumper & Trim Gel and Bumper & Trim Detailer. They've also got Black Dye Spray but it's got mixed reviews.

It's the gel I use and its very good, waterproof too

If you use any sprays, cover the screen if you do it in situ. (cover the screen with something to stop the product getting on the screen!!!)

I painted mine! Scrub down, key’d with an abrasive pad, plastic primer then painted! Came up really well!

That does look good. Is it a recent pic?

It looks good in the 'then' pic - I'd certainly like to see the 'now' pics.
