T Mobile internet
At the moment I have AOL internet but the exchange here is very old and only capable of about 1MBps whether its AOL or BT it makes no difference.
With my T mobile phone bill this morning was a £15 per month offer of their web'n'walk Plus service, Perfect for web browsing, accessing emails, downloading files and audio/ video streaming (excludes internet calling services like Skype) and no matter how much you surf, your monthly cost is fixed . Seems you get a USB modem so plug it in and away you go and speeds are supposed to be up to 3.7 MBps and later this year 7.7 MBps Does anyone have this sort of connection and does it work? Aol may be very slow but its reliable and never not got on line, is this as reliable? I have a full strength signal on my mobile phone so coverage is good assuming they use the same mast as the phone Thanks for any help Ken |

I'm not 100% sure but I do think it is £18 p/m that I pay and that is for everything mentioned previously. I have heard of the likes of Talk Talk giving a better package deal (Phone, TV and Internet for something like £20-ish p/m) but I'm not sure of the details.

Thats pretty impressive for mobile technology! Better than some landlines I've heard about!

You have to be very careful with the mobile Technology.
I have the Vodafone system for saving money in hotels, in some areas it works fine but in some locations you get no Signal at all. Check the Maps on their site for coverage and max Speeds, to make sure your Location is covered. Mine works at Home Location at 2.1MB but next door for some reason max is 512kbs. So please check before signing any contracts. |

Ken, my apologies, I appear to have gotten the wrong end of the stick somewhat. If I'd read your OP properly I'd have noticed you were talking about moblie services and not land-line. Doh!
Thanks Tatts. I promise not to get involved in future until I have read the OP properly. I promise not to get involved in future until I have read the OP properly. I may be being dim but, here goes.
T mobile web and walk appears from their web site to be internet access on a mobile phone, not PC. Any type of internet connection over your land line will have the same restriction no matter which company supplies your service as it distance from exchange that is the issue not supplier. |
