Default 21 year old MOT pass

I was over the moon yesterday when my Rover75CDT passed her MOT. I've not got a moon mileage though and nothing like an immaculate 1999 T reg Con that was in the garage with 40K on the clock. Retro Sports cars in Brighouse are spot on - I've been taking her here for 4 years. Chris is very honest and explained he had to give me an advisory for the Drivers side front damper which was leaking slightly. Chris was also a technician at the main Rover dealer (Clemos)~ in Cleckheaton in it's day and knows his stuff. It's booked in for the front pair replacing, but I can't grumble at 21 years. In addition I haven't come across a 1 owner Rover of this age either. I paid just under £14000 in December 2002 and it's been the best car I've owned!

Default Well done

From one 21yr old owner to another, mine passed a few months ago no adv. An every day car with 87k, everything works and am very grateful to the members on this site for all the help and advice I have received in 4 years of ownership. Today I parked in Aldi and someone came up and admired the car and said nice to see it in such nice condition. I lost my first two 75s because I didn't know about the club. Thanks to all of you, dash it; where's the Thanks button gone?

Well you have beaten me Rob - I've driven my car from new for 23 years but it started life as a company car so only owned it for 20 years. Mind you they gave £23k for it and I only paid them £5700, so they copped most of the depreciation!

Mine failed the MOT yesterday.

Nearside Track rod end ball joint has excessive play (2.1.3 (b) (i))
Nearside Track rod end ball joint dust cover excessively damaged or deteriorated so that it no longer prevents the ingress of dirt (2.1.3 (g) (ii))

Checking my old invoices both track rod ends were replaced in February 2022 and the car has only covered 7,300 miles since. So I'm not very impressed with that. Have re-test next Wednesday.

Brilliant news, all best wishes from a poud owner of my Cowley-built 75, that rolled off the assembly line in August 1999 - my only and every-day car!

Sadly replacement parts often aren't of the same quality as the original fitments.

Good for you. Very satisfying.
I was very happy when my Wife's 23 year old 1.8 Cowley Connie went straight through at the end of September at 170,742 miles.
My CDT is going in on Tuesday coming so fingers crossed. Just over 210,000 on it at the moment so i have not reached moon mileage on it yet. I did exceed it somewhat on my previous CDT though.
