First MOT Test results best and worst marques
Analysis of first MOT results by Moneysupermarket and in today's papers - Orange cars most likely to fail and yellow cars least likely
Cars Most likely to FAIL their first MOT Hyundai 19% Seat 16% Mercedes 13% BMW 13% Peugeot 12% Cars most likely to PASS their first MOT. Mini 95% Lexus 94 % Kia 94 % Suzuki 94 % Saab 94 % (not sure how SAAB features unless it is first MOT passes going back to pre 2012 when SAAB folded)

you can read into that what you will, some owners have their car serviced just before mot, some don't have it serviced at all, some look after their car, some don't.
Be interesting to look at why they fail, bald tyre is different to worn bush. Bush could be down to manufacture, tyre is wear and tear and down to the owner/driver. macafee2 |

You find budget brands tend to do worse at these surveys as owners are less likely to spend money beforehand, I can't remember the year but apparently Lamborghini had the highest MOT pass rate, I don't think anyone in the world would claim Lambos are the most reliable car.

How are Hyundai and Kia so far apart when it’s pretty much the same product, I wouldn’t pay too much attention to that article

Just what I was thinking. I doubt the differences between their respective models are so great to create such a division in MOT pass rates.
