old vs new, the old looks bigger bit its not because the new cooler is alot deeper

only thing left to do now is all my internal joints need to be flaired on the ends so hopefully i wont have any blowing off under boost, and then the cars not far form being back on the road, i cant wait, driveing the 260 around really is puting a hole in my wallet
Hi Dan. I been trolling some threads as I'm going to go for a fmic. Yours and Geraints setup is probably what I'll go for. Another idea I had was to use an intercooler with inlet/outlet on the same side.im wondering if it will be easier with plumbing in? Also did you get the pipework ends flared after?

Not posted on here in a long time there have been plenty of mods that have been done but I have misses documenting them but here's the latest progress on the car
on to the next part of the project

i won this manifold on e bay just over a year ago at a very good price i allmost stole it, i dont think AWM mototsport would sell allother on there now thwy must have made a loss on this one, i wanted to fit it, but thaught i better wait untill i could gather some funds to put a better turbo on at the same time so i was killing two birds with one stone
this thing is a work of art

heres the new turbo iorderd a GT2560R with a swapped compressor houseing so it faces the correct way, also you can see the HKS SSQV dump valve

first job was to remove the front to gain nice easy acsess

i then test fitted the manifold, as you can see its very close to the aincon pipe

i then test fitted the turbo and could see that my crack shaft sensor was going to be in the way, so i had to turn it 180deg and redrill and tap a hole in the gear box, new hole on the left, old on the right

then i bolted the turbo up

i also wraped the air con pipe in some heat reflective tape

i think had to mod the existing turbo oil drain to fit the new turbo

i then set about plumbing back up the intercooler, and got the front back on

from hot side of turbo to intercooler

dump valve in place

i then towed it down to longlife stainless steel exhausts so i could have a down pipe made, went to collect the car, and had to fill and bleed the cooling system drove it home and noticed i had an oil leak, the turbo drain i had modded was weeping oil

so i fixed this with makeing a new kit

i then took the car out and took it for a spin and give it some boost, when i braught it back there was all oil in the intake, due to me putting in the wrong size oil resctrictor for the turbo, as going from journal bearing turbo to ball bearing turbo you require alot less oil to flow though the turbo,

4mm oil restrictor

swapped out for a 2mm oil restrictor

i got the car just about ready for a car show in powderham castle on the 11-12 of July

and i also managed to pipe up and fit a ZT 190 v6 air box

That's a shame, I was lucky enough to just get it ready in time for powederham castle as it took longer than expected, and I drove the car down there without even haveing time to test it,just drove it to the petrol station and back the night before lol, I will be there next year, but not sure what car I will take this time

Yes, I will be there next year as well, as it's my favourite show.

So, how does the car drive? What's the power? Quick?

To be honest it's hard to tell at the moment as I am only running the car at wastegate pressure 8psi due to haveing a slight blow on the manifold, until I have time to sort this out I don't want to wind in the boost just yet and I also am unsure how much boost I can run safely on this turbo on my standard internals, so am saving the pennies to get it set up on a dyno at around 220-230bhp, but at the moment it dose drive nice and boost tends to come in a little later then the other turbo but holds boost stronger up to the redline, but that said once the manifold is done I can dial the gain in properly to

I present to you possibly the first ZT 1.8T 250, spend the day with mark from k maps haveing my GT 2560R turbo and 390CC injectors mapped in to the car, this engine is fully standard, results come back as 250BHP and massive 331NM torque, there was possibly a bit more power to be had but i played it on the safe side, fuel consumption on the 200mile drive home was 42mpg, cant complain with that and what power its making, would like to give a big thanks to eurorover owners club for also haveing involment in this build, Mark and k maps or with out these people this car wouldnt be where it is today, theres also pleny more planned for the future as my gole is 300bhp, this really goes to show what a k series is capable with some minor hadward changes and a good map
