Default Highline screen issues

The screen on my highline isn't working, I would like any suggestions as what to try next.

This is where I'm at with it -

The screen does come on occasionally.
I've changed the box in the boot ( left 1 as you look in).
If I wiggle the white plug that goes into the head unit, the screen will flicker but won't come on.
I've tried another head unit that won't come on either, but will flicker. I'm not 100% the screen works on this as it was bought 'untested' but the other has worked so I'm thinking it might not be the screen.
The wires in the dash that go to the white plug for the head unit have been cut/re joined at some point, but the connections look fine.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Try disconnecting the sat nav drive, mine had been wet previously and playing with it to get it working, cleaning ribbon cables etc. didn't fix it (drains the battery) but sometimes after having it apart, when you put it back in the car the screen was blank as you have.

Will give that a go, it has been wet at some point in and around that area.

Once wet is really all it needs. Narrow gap pcb tracks can short out as the lead solder oxidises and migrates.

Some have had success with very gentle use of an old toothbrush to clean up any obvious signs of moisture damage to any pcb's.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

Just to clarify, the TV and Nav boxes in the spare wheel well are OK, it's the actual dvd drive that's been wet at some point, we'll the area has been, can't say about the CD drive.
So can i presume then, if the cd drive itself has been wet, it will cause the screen to play up? It lights up and appears to work fine......

The repair to the cut wires is the most likely culprit. My first action (given that you say it works if you wiggle the wires): would be to completely redo that repair *properly - There's no way of telling just by looking at it that it's ok.

*Properly : With solder and shrink wrap - If not good with a soldering iron find a friend or electrician who is.
