I am not sure that I would have found it in the Car Interior section either, Rich.
Maybe it would be better in the Engine & Technical section. Anyway, a great video , I have posted up link to it a few times now, and it certainly helps people.

Excellent info Rich, thanks for taking the time to do this.
Your link also led to another good you-tube watch. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OV-9dVb7keM A 40 minute long program but well worth the time. John. |

Heres how it works for me after trail and error.Trip pressed, ignition on.As soon as the number one appears release and IMMEDIATELY start tapping to count up to 19. Release. Now let it cycle a few on offs till u get the rhythm then at the next instance of 'off' hit the button whilst saying 'ONE and TWO' in this time frame. carry on till 7 is reached . Start engine and chocs away with coolant temp displayed . Took me a while to get the hang of it but now its works every time

Thanks for the reply guys, tried again with same result, tried the instrument check and that worked ok, so i think i am doing it the correct way, was wondering if it could be a prob with the coolant sensor?

Keep trying Paul, its all in the timing! If there was a problem with the coolant temp sensor the radiator fan would run continiously at high speed. ECU goes into worst case scenario mode if it isn't getting a temp figure.

wow, thanks for the reply steve, the fan does come on at full blast, with air con and de-mist, that was going to be my next question, may be worth changing the sensor then.
