For folks looking into the autogpsdvd.com (or autodvdgps.com, I cannot rem which is which) address be careful. This appears to be a site similar to wish etc.specialising car accessories. They offer a sales partnering with drop shipping (and guess who used such a method?). The info at the bottom of the qualir site links to how it works. And the previous warnings given by members regarding this in the past start to reverberate.
Searching for rover 75 brings up plenty, which is odd in my view for a site set up 3 years after mgr ceased to be. Odd, because in my sceptical mind, makes it seem like they had reason to add the 75. Ie contact with an 'in' to 75 owners. The 75 is not as common or popular globally as vws or bmw etc. And Long with the autogpsdvd email makes me think that qualir was his supplier. Certainly one 'lead to consider. And again I am not saying the site is complicit in this situation nor owned by Sean. Sent from my SM-A600FN using Tapatalk

The ‘inference’ comes from the total posts on this subject on here. People are trying to find out where the person who is supposed to be involved in taking money, of whatever form, from customers for goods that were never delivered. If I lived at that address, and read these posts, I would have been sending a lawyers notification that I have no knowledge of any person residing at said address who is/was involved in any dealings with anyone mentioned in said posts. And demand that the address mentioned should be removed, and subsequently not used again in any form. Perhaps it might be a good idea if addresses are not used on the forum, and used only in P.M. to each other, perhaps to those who were concerned with losses only. Although I agree with the sentiments of trying to help those people who have losses, I think we are starting to tread on broken bottles The above first paragraphs assume that the person mentioned does not live there..

With regards to 'Sean's ' address, and the current resident addresses such a complaint, one could enquire if they had a forwarding address. Elimination from enquiry springs to mind. But the fact remains that the details are in the public domain. Search for white pages and you will find another source. Your argument reminds me of the one when photographers are accosted for taking pictures in a public place, with people of all ages appearing in them. (For non commercial use). Those people do not have a right to delete because 'they did not give permission'. I think it is bad form to keep the image if requested to delete in most situations but have and will refuse should their inclusion be relevant or the chance has since passed. As in this case I refuse to delete the address and links as it is relevant to the information at the time and still publicly available. There is no inference to anyone other than the website owner's address at the times it was registered. Incidentally you would be out of pocket with your lawyers letter and disappointed. Just one last word. There are many and varied reasons why information is in the ‘public domain’. The point I am making is:- the inference is drawn from what you are using that information for, and how it is presented.

I agree. Whilst the address may be in the public domain, associating it with potentially illegal activity is not. That is occurring here. |

From the Canadian 411 web site for the autogpsdvds.com website, the registrants number for Sean does not relate to the registrants address but to a couple in L’Ardoise. It gets worse the registrants fax number is a telephone number for a Pizza Restaurant in Sydney. However, the admins fax number does relate to the address previously given. As these entries are at least spurious I will be forwarding the information on to Action Fraud and the Godady hosting platform. With regards to the 75andzt.com web site where I made my recent purchase, this site is still live but with many pages not accessible. I have also checked all the email addresses for the sites and are still active but the user’s computer may be set up to block incoming traffic relating to the websites. |

To even up this.I ordered a micro sd map update from him for my wireless it arrived within 8 days of placing the order. In all fairness sometimes he gets it spot on. I must have spent well over £1000 with him over the past eight to ten years, one order did take a while to arrive but at least with Sean you don’t get hit with a customs bill for every order delivered. I am sure there as many of his customers out there who have had smooth transactions than have had bad experiences. Just wait till Brexit you wont be able to buy anything from anywhere outside the UK with out problems and being slammed for every kind of tax you can think of and half a dozen you cant think off. Just my experience
This is just my experience dealing with Sean - I've had three DD units (first a Windows CE unit, then a Navall 2, and now a Star - all have worked mostly fine)
I have also bought a pair of MG7 rear LED lights, and a pair of MG3 SW door mirrors. First two units were fitted by forum members, and the third by Rob (Sean's latest UK based distributor and fitter). I have to say Rob did a grand job fitting my latest unit after a local ICE 'specialist' in Leeds made a right NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD- up of it and couldn't fit it and make it work (worst £50 I have ever spent!). I had a phone call from Sean when I was grumbling on e-mail about the fitting problems (at that point I believed what the local fitter was telling me). Sean put me in touch with Rob, and then all was well. I have read all the accounts here (and previously) of problems people have had dealing with Sean. All I will say is he was always decent with me, and I received what I paid for. I feel sorry for those whose experiences were less positive. Andrew
