Powerbank and Jump Start from Lidl
£30 from Lidl this Thursday.
Ultimate Speed Powerbank And Jump Starter https://www.lidl.co.uk/cps/rde/www_l...countryCode=GB Would this 1200mAh be suitable for starting a 1.8 turbo?

hi, if it`s anything like the £20 I got off ebay it will have no problem, mine started my crv that had been stood in an airport parking lot for 3 weeks with no trouble. I just hook it up to the battery and leave for 5 mins before trying.

My car starts after being parked for three weeks when I connect NOTHING to it. It has a decent battery. |

It's the time of year when batteries fail, often with little or no warning. The battery is healthy on Yella Fella but my project (ZTT) needs frequent jump starts as it hardly moves. It's not just a jump start tool, its a powerbank also. So will 1200mAh jump start a 1.8 Turbo? Anyone?

On a more serious note for you Tourer, I have a C-Tek 5.0 trickle charger, on both of my cars on alternate weeks, keeps them topped up really well. Rev |

Not one of these, but I have an Energizer, with the same output of 12000mAh.
They claim it with jump engines up to 5 litre petrol and 4 litre diesel. I have jump started a totally dead 2 litre diesel with it. I was expecting the device to be flat after that, but it didn't even touch it and was still reading 100%. I recon it could have gone on and jumped a few more engines if needed. So it would be okay for a 1.8 petrol. That is a great price from Lidl for a jump starter. My Energizer was about £130! But, at least I got a carry case with it.

I found this video, from John Cadogan, which explains how these things work. These Lithium-ion polymer starters are very handy pieces of kit. I am going to pick up one or two of these ones from Lidl, so I can have one in each of the family cars, just in case.
