Just saying 'ello....
Just wanted to apologise for not being polite, by joining your forum, and immediately going to the Technical section for help, rather than saying Hello first!.
So, I thought I'd rectify it now!. Anyway, I'm Swanny, and I live in Shropshire. I've only had my 75 a month, but am very impressed with it so far. It was an absolute bargain in my opinion, with 74K, FSH, and the timing belts and stat housing all being renewed less than 3K miles ago. My upcoming list of things to do is (In no particular order!): 1. Change the Cam Sensor 2. Look at the rear door handles, as they are very stiff and sometimes don't work. 3. Fit a towbar. 4. Try and get the deadlocks deactivated. 5. Get some fitted mats. 6. Do the plenum drain stuff. 7. Investigate the non-working reversing lights. What tyre pressure do you good folks recommend running at?. I've always gone slightly higher than the manufacturers recommended, as I always think they're too soft, and get edge wear. Anyway, that's enough of your time I've taken up, so here is my 75:

Looks lovely, used to have a 400 in atlantic blue and really like the colour.
Now to some of your "to do's" 2] I find lubricating the handle backplate, latch and exterior door handle with white lithium grease helps. 4] why 7] Normally caused by a non working switch - it's situated on the side of the gearbox accessible via the nearside front wheel well, easier if you remove the wheel first - rather large alloy unit with a black plug. Can be brought back to life with liberal amounts of WD40 and pressing the plunger. If not they are circa £9.00 for a replacement. Cheers Jim |
