As happened with Ireland and Spain, EU funding is feeding through into the Polish economy which is creating work and well paid work at that. Poles are bound to want to live and work in their own country now that their economic situation is in better state. I believe the same will shortly be true for Lithuania.

Anecdotal I know but I've got first-hand experience of repairs done by both Polish and domestic tradesman. No prizes for guessing which one turned up on time, got the job done, didn't swear in front of the receptionist, didn't smoke outside the open front doors of the building (the MD went ballistic at them about that) and didn't need to come back and do the job again.
It's unfair to tar all local tradesman with the same brush though, just we do seem to encounter the more extremes of service levels in the UK. It's also unfair to think that today's youth generation don't want to work - the majority of them do and will happily learn a trade or profession if they could get a chance. |

Be good to see a Lot of these Plumbers go home,
They are putting Qualified Tax Vat Paying ones out of Business. Most don't have Public Liability Insurance or Corgi registered for Gas Work, Some of them are Quiet frightening. If our Company Finds any workers from Eastern Europe or otherwise applying or turning up for work, on Plumbing work, or any Electrical or Computer work they promptly get sent on their way or Contract terminated. Its stated in Black and white about workers, Qulaifications and Language etc. Its great being an American Based Company get away with Murder but least you can Pick and choose who you want, without all the Ridiculous rights and other Things. This is my own Personal Thoughts, and no way reflects that of the Club or its Team. Last edited by JohnDotCom; 16th February 2008 at 17:03.. |
