Default ok i need a little help

I m looking for an appreciating classic, something v8 as i only do around 3-5 k miles privite a year, im an east of england ambulance engineer so i dont get much time to myself,
I looked at the mgzt cdti 10 years or more ago and they were out of my price range, but a lot older and slightly more wealth im back looking at the same year cars vut with a little more ompf.
Help comes in
1. I see se's for sale? Whats an mg zt 260 se ,i know 260 denots v8. And im i looking for any other models
2. What is reasonable moneys now for these cars , im seeing them for as little as 5.5 up to 10k
3. Are there any issues i.e listen for fear box noises as torque causes bearing probs, cant really see drive isses as they must use mustang gearbox and final drive surely?
4.and how are we looking for spares, as 10 year or mor ago i was lead away from the mgzt not just on the money side but on the horror story that if i split the bumpers front or rear its a right off as they are no longer availible?
5. Other than the bay of e's is there a better place to look for these, traveling isnt a prob and its not like im looking at buying one this weekend , im looking over the next 12months as ive set my heart on this as my next and final toy , a good comfortable Q car. Beats the hell outta my 200k laguna est that ive had since new from 2002
Spose thats all the questions at the mo

Hi Colin, 260s were available in two specifications, standard and SE, SE has all the toys, standard doesn't although a lot of standards (like mine) have had a lot of the SE options retrofitted over the years. Looked after properly the engine and drive train are reasonably bulletproof, the one bit of advice is not to take the engine revs into the red. Other than the premium front bumper bumpers and body panels are common across the ZT range. Some parts are rare, rear discs for one, but the 260s owners club commissions batches now and then.

I'd suggest you register with the 260s OC, more info available there plus there is an up to date listing of 260s for sale.

Check this list out,I think the nearest member available to view it on your behalf before you commit to a long trip would be Suzublu (Ronnie) http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...ad.php?t=63839
