Default B.T. television query.

An elderly neighbour has had B.T. television installed. The engineer set up the box then left without setting up their aeriel or giving much instruction. I have now connected the ariel so they have Freeview through the aeriel and B.T. sport through the HDMI connection. My query is, is it only possible to get the sport through the HDMI,or can he get Freeview through the HDMI to save him having to change source.
Sorry for long drawnout query.

I think you just plug the aerial into BT box and watch all through that. No need to watch just the tv.

I have a BT youview box with BT sport and we watch all through the BT box. It can also record and you can watch on demand etc. Some boxes will not record - depends on what he pays for.

The box will supply tv from aerial and over broadband. It will deliver it all via HDMI

Good luck with the youveiw box

biggest pile of useless garbage I ever got conned into buying.

I spent more time doing factory resets and downloading software updates than I did watching it.

In the end I gave up with 5 months still left on the contract and chucked it in the bin.

Never had to reset mine or download anything. It just works all the time.
But I guess like most tech, if you get a bad one it can be infuriating.

Mines the same, aeriel into the BT Vision or UView box (have had both now) then via HMDI into the television. No issues at all with mine.

Thanks for replies, will have a good read of manual. At the moment all he is getting through HDMI is B.T. sport, no catch up or on demand.

Did you put aerial into BT box (not the tv)?

Are you getting freeview through the box?

I see catch up should be available to all packages not sure why that is not available particularly as you can get BT sport.

Edit: sorry I misread above as you have read the manual and still cannot get it

That will work OK (obviously as that is what you have )

I wonder why HDMI is not working

You will of course have to select HDMI input on the TV (well I do on mine, some maybe automatic)
