Default Door actuators

Does anyone else have trouble with the door actuators?

Yesterday I changed a front passenger door and both rear doors on my tourer and the driver’s door actuator.

What a nightmare!!!! The doors easy! The actuator on the other hand not so easy. I knew the replacement worked as it was from a friend’s car (proudyorkshieman). It would work perfectly out of the car once I fitted into the door it would work but then lock the car and unlock it the actuator would just not unlatch at all. Remove it from the car and it would work. I Got eventually got it working at around half 9 last night.

Is there any reason for the struggle? Anything I can next time so it doesn’t take so long ect?

Thank you.

Not sure with this.. never had this issue and I’ve changed one or two over the years.

Did my driver's door the other day and it took a couple of goes to get it just right so it opened and closed without snagging. As they say above ... practice makes perfect.
