Default Can someone help me look at a car

Hello

I am currently on the hunt for my dream Rover 75 and after many months of searching I think I have found what I'm looking for.

But the problem is the car is in the Dorset/hampshire area and is about a 6/7 hour journey by train (or an hour by plane) from me so I was wondering if any members in that area would be able to take a look.

I will pay for any fuel cost and money for a deposit and owe you an eternal debt of gratitude.

Cheers

It would be a huge help if you could tell us where the car is. Somewhere in the South of England at a rough guess: that's a big area though. Given the town/city nearest then you'll be much more likely to get a positive response.

Looking at it, I'd say you've not missed out badly. Looks pretty poorly maintained cosmetically. Very scuffed bumper, wheels that still look grubby despite it being washed, not very shiny paint, grubby interior, etc. If they've not bothered cleaning it, I wonder if they'd done anything.

Been for sale for about four months, too!

To my very untrained eye it looked very good, I did notice the scuff but didn't think much of it. This is an example of me following heart instead of brain!

If this is a way of consoling me then I would like to thank you it has made me feel somewhat better!

Hi Jay -

Was it the spec or colour that drew you to the car. That way we can all keep an eye out. I do echo Frazlee's comments but as a Newbie I wasn't brave enough to say ...

Basically the spec, especially a sunroof, cream leather and automatic, and connie SE MK1. Colour is not too important but blue/maroon preferred. There seem to be quite a few MK2's which fit the bill but the headlights and front bumper are questionable in the looks department.

I was smarter this time than my last purchase to find someone to help me look at the car first! Oh well.

Saw that one on Ebay but they listed it as being in Bournemouth.

Quite fancied an auto, and it was well loaded. Would have needed a closer look, and as mentioned, had a grubby interior. Why they didn't give that a clean God only knows.
