I checked mine today for the first time luckily it all seems fine in there. The only problem was that the screw that retains the cover jumped up and went down the hole in the wing and hasn't come out yet despite flushing water through the drain. Is it too big to come out?

This has definitely moved getting the guards and the spy hole mod fitted up my list of priorities.

Default wet carpets

My front footwell carpets are wet in my 2002 Tourer 75, I have checked the plenums and they are bone dry and all four drains are clear, I do not have a sunroof and my coolant level has not been going down so I have ruled out a leaking heater matrix, the only thing i can think of is a leaking windscreen?
Does anyone have any other ideas?
Cheers

Check the bulkhead where the steering shaft goes through, the clutch hydraulic pipe if it is a manual, and the wiring loom to ensure all the gaiters are correctly fitted.

The thin black foam seals around the white skuttle panel clips are porous.

Seal with silicone grease or silicone sealer
There are 7 of them to seal but it's usually the 2 outer one where the water drains round them onto the carpets inside.
Don't seal the centres as the holes are blocked off and are where the black drawing pin poppet clips go into.

No need to remove them (risk of breaking them, simply seal round the oval edges

HI Norry
Lift the ECU of it's bracket and you will find it, the two drain holes you are referring to are the A/C outlet not the plenum drain holes. click the link to find them from below.

I cleaned mine shortly after purchasing the car in September, however, I still had to do it this past week. I couldn't believe how much water was in my plenums!
