Alex,claying is using "clay" to decomtaminate the cars paint.It looks a bit like blue tack,& you wash your car thoroughly,use the clay with a lubricant,to rub all over the paint & remove bits that you normally can't,so it feels really smooth to the touch.Then you apply a good polish of your choice,& a good wax to seal it.Showroom shine is ok as a detailing polish,but i prefer Demon shine,cheaper & just as good.
