You can imagine the disappointment of your old car turning up five years after selling it looking like this
So after walking the dog, I realised I couldn't face looking at the lad in this state, so a quick visit to the local car wash...... Then a quick run back home....... And a swift check over underneath........ Followed by a vacuum out, then connecting T4 to see why there was a man with a balloon on his lap displayed on the IPK......that sorted out swiftly, it was a quick trip to the next stop..... The result a pass with a couple of advisories.......sill rust ?? a brake pipe covered with grease (see clear waxoil ) and the tiniest amount of play in one of the front arms. Fair enough to the arm, and tonight's job was replacing it with a good S/H one I had in the shed, followed by washing it again properly I'm sure Gavin wil be pleased when he gets back from his holiday to find a car that is not only clean, but has a full years MOT The things you do for friends Brian |

Now that’s what you call a friend. I had my ubp off again to fit a new clip on the top connection under it because it was leaking slightly. Damn thing still leaking slightly. I am wondering if the pipe itself has started to go a bit leaky under pressure. Awkward to get to and you need to remove the battery box to get to it along with other items, so called Steve (Artic) to see if he had any recent diesel pipe to fit the pump, and true to form he has. So it’s a job for the Nano Meet on Saturday at Four Ashes. Cheers Steve. Got to be right for the trip to Holland next week. Oil/filter change next week.

Had the same a couple of weeks ago - cut the end off the pipe, reconnected it and all was well.

Nano meet today and Jubs fitted my 2nd hand Xtrons and an OBD2 reader. I must say I do like the Xtrons unit and all the stuff it does! Big thanks to Jubs for fitting. Lots of banter as well, so a nice morning

Put another shocker on the front , faffed about but gave up with the Lower arm as could not crack the taper joint and wasn't prepared to get halfway with a ruined thread and then not be able to move the car.

Err are you sure Heather, I'm more "Crow from below, than Dove from above"
Curiously enough, one of my customers is Tom Mensforth of the Angelic Upstarts..........unless you are thinking of other angelic things Anyway today's jobs were straightforward enough, fit the PPD carpeted heater enclosure panels to match the PPD carpet in Frosty, then give him a swift wash to remove the worst of the spiders webs, green sludge, and fossilised bird poo. That job was punctuated by "real work", so I gave the lad another wash in the dwindling daylight, so it will be reasonable to expect some justified criticism of streaky paintwork Still if nothing else, it will make your car look stunning Brian |
