Default Intermittent Power Problem

Hello all

The fault - 1. Under very heavy acceleration the car has cut out (twice up a hill asking for everything) normal driving no real issues. 2 Starting not as easy as it should be some times no cranking at all. If I leave it a few second it might start with a lot of cranking, pumping accelerator etc.

I know I need a T4 session (I have been in contact with Chris but no suitable date for both of us)

Suggestions welcome in the meantime.

Regards

You don't need a T4 session, what you need is a injector leakback test carried out to determine which injector(s) is/are at fault.

The car will start better from stone cold, and fairly poorly when hot, requiring longer to crank than when cold

Thanks Brian, I thought it could be a leaky injector.

Fault found with leaking injector on cylinder 1. Swapped for used (£20) injector bought from a member here and now running how it should. All in £60 well spent.

Thanks for the help.

Excellent stuff, and a nice easy fix too

Number one injector is the only one that doesn't need the inlet manifold removed to replace it.

Hi, were there any dash warning lights?
