Thanks for that Steve, the MOT inspector reprimanded me for looking so miserable, saying he was going to wipe that look off my face I hope you have better luck soon. You certainly deserve better

The other thing is that the tester gave me a separate note saying the Conti's - 2 tyres were 3mm and the other 2 were 4mm. Can you suggest any favourite tyres for replacement?
Good afternoon Phil! Alison has some Kumho Excta HS 51 tyres fitted. Good balance of cost and performance.

Thanks Stu, I will look them up and welcome other suggestions we are lucky having the gurus in the lounge. The contis are 3 years old, but only got 14000 miles out of them.

Finding out what colour a WW2 RAF oil drum would be is turning into a bit of a marathon! It was suggested elsewhere that I contact the RAF museum so I emailed Cosford who passed it to the Curatorial Department who have now passed it to the Research Department in London!

Well done on the MOT pass Phil We use Michelin tyres in work and they seem to be lasting for 20,000 odd miles before they require changing. On the car we have budget Jinyu tyres, 8000 miles later they still have 5mm of tread left and the grip is excellent in both wet and dry
