I've just returned from a weeks camping at Clippersby Hall in Norfolk using my tourer . Before preparing to go I gave the car the once over and found the alternator belt frayed. A call to Brian to ask if I could hire his tensioner tool , and within an hour I was enjoying his and Alfredo's company over a coffee and putting the world to rights. After being stuck at home for many months on the sick from work , catching up with Brian was as my late Grandmother used to say, 'just the tonic I needed' . I could have stayed and chatted for hours but I had sneaked out of the house and raced up the A1 to The Peoples Republic of North Tyneside whilst the wife nipped to the shops ! Brian loaned me the tool and two Gates drive belts and only asked that I replace them and drop off the tool and the replacement belts to our friend Dave Johnson who has his garage just around the corner from me.
This is just one example of generosity to me and many others who are very lucky to call Brian a friend |

Salt of the earth. A man who you know where you stand without any doubt. Only met Brian last year on the Holland trip. The kind of man he is, there was an unfortunate incident when property went missing and he was amongst the first to try and alleviate the angst this caused. Well Bri, I for one am sorry to see you decide that the time is ripe to set off on another road. I hope you will be as happy and fulfilled as you travel that road, as we have been knowing you. Good luck mate.

A True Friend.
I see many people sad that Brian might not be there for them, how many have actually been there for him when he needed support?
I'm glad to say he's a friend and always will be. Last edited by Saga Lout; 12th July 2020 at 14:36.. |

Brian will be sorely missed without question, I only met him once very briefly at a National at Gaydon and liked the "what you see is what you get" way of him.
I wish him well with whatever he does and hope he does return again once more, however, I feel that Brian is truly signing out of the Forum, but, I think he will help people if he can, he's just had enough of it on here, it's his choice, his life, respect Martyn |

Genuine person help you out at every occasion he can without any remuneration, spoke quite a few times together on the phone, first meet him at meet for charity, some 6-7 years ago right from the start you could tell he was a straight talking bloke with heaps of knowledge which he shared willingly.
I am sure we will still keep in touch via phone etc, Brian stay safe & look after yourself Arctic.
