Checked all round for upcoming MOT. Replaced one tyre that was cracking with age. Cleaned up and touched up rear subframes, sills and suspensions with Waxoyle and Dynax. Cleaned and checked sliders and pads for free movement. Hopefully that should be that!

Wasn't today, but the last thing I had done was replace the accident damaged body panels at the front and had the rear bumper reattached. It's all lovely and straight again now.

New gear know arrived from custom mg rover and now fitted. Big improvement Over the tired oe one.
*edit* I don’t have a ‘wee Beadle hand’, my son was in helping me and the wee hand is his! Lol Also got my cruise control working, fitted the new brake pedal switch and I think the switch that was there was for a non cruise fitted car. Old switch below Last edited by Maxfly; 11th July 2020 at 19:31.. |

Prepped the engine bay of the Dorchester in readiness for applying some paint tomorrow, a fair amount of masking tape has been used!

Locking Wheel Bolt Removal
I was a bit worried about this for a while. The splines are stripped out of the bolt head. Search archives here and the best suggestion seemed to be to hammer a 21mm socket onto it. I don't have a 21mm socket so I googled for imperial and its apparently 13/16" . Split the socket doing it but it worked. Guess the price of a new socket is less than paying a garage to sort it.

I did nothing due to my ever decreasing mobility (Osteoarthritis of the hip).
