I have held off on getting larger wheels to replace my Comets due to worrying it will ruin the ride. I may just stick with them and paint them up ready for summer. The money would be better used towards a stainless exhaust I think.

Well in my opinion the OP's driving one of the best looking cars around with cart wheels on.

Well let me say I appreciate the aesthetic difference between Meteors and crowns (AKA Cart Wheels)

As my 75 is a Club SE, it came with Unions fitted, but, this winter, I got the chance of a cheap set of Crowns, complete with winter tyres. I find that the Crowns make it ride really nicely, though it does feel a bit more wallowy than it did on Unions. The Crowns I have are quite scabby, unfortunately, so this weekend, they'll be being swapped for Serpents off a friend's car that they're selling.
I would certainly have another set of 15 inch wheels, but, they'd either need to be immaculate Crowns, or, better still, Y spokes, which I think look excellent, on the right car. I think Unions give a terrific compromise between ride quality, and cornering, so I might well go back to them, if I don't like the Serpents. My reasoning behind getting Serpents is because they're the wheels that really sold me on 75s when they first came out, and once they're on, the car will look exactly as I want it to. The only observation I've made with Crowns is that they look best on Cowley cars, or dark-coloured 75s. Also, with mudflaps fitted, they look a bit odd on Crowns, from behind. Here's my car with Unions, and also with Crowns. I reckon if they'd made 16 inch Crowns, they'd have looked spectacular. I love how classy the car looks on them, when it's clean.
