Powered Dab Aerials
I have just read that the DAB Windscreen aerials are not so good at best.
What's the next simplest powered solution to fit for Dab reception? And can the 12V be grabbed from the fuse box for the shortest installation routing possible. I read that someone tucked their aerial end in under the headlining and got great reception so didn't bother drilling the roof. I have a saloon with a sunroof so hoping to keep it simple. Thanks Neil

Don't automatically dismiss windscren aeriels.I have just had a DAB unit fitted and my first impressions of reception in a variety of locations with a windscreen aeriel is very good indeed.I am going to trial it further over the next week or two, but so far so good. The search found 81 stations and the signal strength bar shows 4/5 out of 5 on most of them. You can always fit an external one if a glass mounted one proves unsatisfactory.

Hi you could always try a digital 12v car stereo am fm dab radio antenna amplifier booster ( about £10 )and use a piggy back fuse in the fuse box. ( about £3 )
Dont now if they work ok, as I,ve fitted an external one on my Tourer.Mybe worth looking into.

I have a alpine 196dab with a alpine powered glass mount dab antenna.there’s a option in the menu to add power down the coaxial cable to the antenna. It has excellent reception
