We had a fall of snow overnight then it froze so a few “skitey bits”,as our local BBC weatherman Paul Mooney says, or was it the retired ITV weather man Bib Johnson? I can’t remember.

Morning Rod, I've just found that out myself. Greenhouse door is frozen shut too, ~I've got more horse poop to mix up with compost for next season .

Forecast for us for overnight tonight is -5°C - another blanket on the bed I think!

I've got a bit of a problem with my local Honda dealer and/or DVLA. When I traded in my CRV against the HRV I've got now, I handed over the V5 document and asked if I needed to send the yellow bit (transfer to Motor Trader) to DVLA. The answer was "we'll do that for you - it's done online now".
At the time (9th December) I was due 6 months worth of rebate - total £120.
It's now 6th January and still no sign of my cheque from Swansea. If I check the DVLA website, the car is still showing as "Taxed until end of June 2021" which implies that either Swansea haven't actioned the cancellation - or the garage messed up the notification. Assuming that the notification may have to be re-submitted, I'll have lost a month's worth of rebate as we're now in January - so that's my £120 reduced to £100 - and that's before we get the thing sorted

Really sorry to hear that Rich. It's always the small things that bring back the memories and it's such a sadness when they break.

Feel at a loss knowing that I cannot do anything to help.

Keep safe people.

Bob, Such very sad news.

Made worse by knowing that "you" can do nothing to help.

Makes me think that we need to look to the future and be good neighbours to one and all as best we can.

Take care.

Back in from Quizzie's walk.

Glorious sunshine and in it actually not too bad. In the shade was another matter .

More "dig out the mole" kept her happy. And met a couple of playmates for added interest.

Now curled up in her blanket all warm and settled.

Take care.

Evening all, just back from a chilly dog walk, thankfully no rain though, although Meg did find some puddles to splash in.

Evening everyone.

Elizabeth is not my ‘blood’ niece, she calls me Uncle Bob so in turn I call her my niece. This is just to clarify the situation.

The update is that Elizabeth has been admitted to St. Thomas’s hospital in London. But that’s all I know. Naturally enough the hospital telephone exchange is under somewhat pressure.

I have everything crossed for her.
