Rover Cooling Fan Motor PGJ ~ ~ Mail order or fitting service
There are 2 types of Radiator Cooling/AC Fan on the Rover 75 ZT. The early 3 speed type is notorious for early failure. Generally the LOW speed fails at 50K-60k miles, MEDIUM ans HIGH speed fail between 60K and 70k miles. Later 2 speed motors are very reliable, only being let down by the notorious silver resistor which provides HALF speed. I am the originator of the Gold 100 Watt resistor kit and supply these also (see other posts) Motor life depends on driving conditions and use of Aircon. If ATC heater panel left on AUTO, the fan runs for 90% of journeys and is very wasteful on energy and MPG! Use ECON unless you need the Aircon running. As there was a large overlap on the production line we cannot go by the Reg/Year of your Car to determine which type fan you have. Look through the front grille at the 2 O'clock position behind the fan blades and see if resistor present or not. See here to identify which type either 2 speed or 3 speed? http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...ad.php?t=41898 Radiator cooling fan options available for Sale by mail order or fitted in the workshop. Thank you Jules!
I am definitely interested in your parts, however as much as I would leap at the chance of you fitting the items and do all those sensible "peace of mind" checks and upgrades, unfortunately you are 285 miles from my address in West Sussex and although I am in Cardiff for the day on Thursday 3rd Feb attending a client meeting, It would not be a sensible task to suggest that either of us travel that far to resolve my pride and joy's ill health Do let me know what you think Cheers SH |

Hi Stephen
It's your call really. Quite a few members travel from London area to save 300-400 quid!! Cardiff is the other side of Wales to us and probably the same amount of travelling time to there from here or from your home to here!!

Hi Derek
No stock at present as the Revotec kit is so good, I have focused on these kits all this year. Very rare to have a product which costs much less but better designed than OEM but it's true in this case plus it comes with new blades, water proof motor and built in stone guard! The OEM motor has to be fitted with a new blade according to MGR adding another £50 to the bill. We are currently working with Revotec to improve and tailor the kits to fit and look even better to fit the 75ZT range Revotec cooling kit link Jules shop http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...d.php?t=189409

Great! so your research shows that this is even better and cheaper than the one I was looking at.
I used the search function and found this old thread. I am glad that I sked. It will probably be much easier to install than the old upgrade kit I was looking at. |
