Default Is there a brake hose to calliper fitting?

One of the rear calliper securing bolts is "hidden" behind the hydraulic brake hose, making the use of a socket very difficult unless your socket is very shallow and mine are not shallow enough.
Is there a brake hose to calliper fitting that would take the hose away from the bolt head? I'd want to be able to fit the brake hose into it.

Not sure why you are having a problem, I can easily fit a standard socket onto both caliper bolts with no interference from the brake hose. Have you tried a ring spanner?

Have you removed the caliper from its mount (undo the slider pins with a 7mm allen key) ? Then you can tie the caliper back to remove the bracket (two 13 or 14 mm bolts if I recall)

I changed both rear discs for my MOT 6 weeks ago. Everything was easy to get at. ( Had, of course, to remove the calipers. )

Something odd about yours . ---

the calliper is still mounted and yes I resorted to a ring spanner but a socket is much easier. I can get to the top bolt but not the bottom.

Have a look at this picture, it is the offside calliper

remove the caliper first. (7mm allen bolts behind the circled areas - if you were not aware, even just one, will allow you to rotate the caliper out of the way, but there will then be more weight to hold up with the bracket as well)

May be wrong but that doesn't look like a standard caliper? My brake hose feeds in at the top.

macafee2, The calliper comes off by detaching the slider pins . The bolts you refer are the fixings for the calliper carrier and are easily accessible having removed or swung the carrier out of the way as mentioned in a previous post.

Can I ask why you need to remove the bracket? It is much simpler to remove just the caliper from the bracket.

Then if you do need to remove the bracket then access will much easier

Guys your replies have me stumped. Removing the bolts I refer to is the way I have always done it.
Did not know by removing one slider I could swing the unit out of the way.
I'm going to go and get dressed, go to the garage and check, watch this space.

I need to lower the trailing arm to refit and torque the toe in brackets and I think the brake hose is to short to lower far enough for the wife and I to do the tow in bracket
