Default Problem with new kenwood unit

Hi I have bought a brand new kenwood KDC-4551UB and everything went in ok just a straight swap. Now though my steering wheel controls no longer work!
I had the standard kenwood KRC-391 tape deck fitted with cd multichanner in the boot, all the infra red stuff is there and it worked fine on the old kenwood unit!

Any ideas guys?

Sure all the infra-red stuff is still there, and that the IR sender has a clear line-of-sight to the reciever on the HU?

Hi yes it's all there I've had the new deck out again this morning, the controls worked fine with the old unit! Are all kenwoods infra red compatible? Could it be my new deck is not compatible?

If yours supports a remote control, then it should work fine.

It makes no odds if you use the pc99 leads the remote is hard wired to the rear of the radio via a blue remote wire
