Hi Steve, I'm going to try and find someone who can perhaps weld in new tubing, once I have dismantled the old axle.

Ater repairing, paint it with a good waxoil product like Dinitrol 3125 or Bilt Hamber product, and get it pressure sprayed or filled and drained with the product in those tubes /cavities, leave it dry for a few days before replacing it, you only need to check it every MOT and maybe paint a bit more on as and when, in my opinion better than painting as it will only lift in time.
