There is very little information available to potential purchasers on there, the weak spots on the car, ( top hose, black olive, rear diff leaks, early rear sub frames etc) and as a current non-owner, it all comes over a bit "secret squirrel" to me!

However, I'm sure that once you become an owner, there's lots of info on there, but by then, if you've bought a dog, it's a bit late!

All IMO of course!
Not surprised at all

But then again, there is nothing 'secret squirrel' either.
People can join, look in the public sections for info and ask questions regarding owning, running and maintaining a 260.

Most faults are well documented and available on other sites as well.
There is even a section on here, posted by Tim, about the points to watch for.
http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...ad.php?t=25229

If people feel it's appropriate to comment on the way the forum is run and full access is granted on a 'own the car' basis that fine.

Most comments come from people who will never buy a car and the people who do generally join the pubuc section of the forum before they buy and are pleased with the info and support given by owners.

This is of course my opinion and I'm sure you'll disagree as well

You seem to know all are weak spots! So that plan didn't work!

All to do now, is forget what is mentioned by others and start asking questions. I think you'll find most of us are most helpful

As a two-sixties member for nearly 6 years I love the way it operates, keeping it strictly for owners escapes all the trolls, bots and haters that plague many other sites. When I go on there I know that all the threads and replies are relevant and civilised.
For those that want to buy a V8, I have found anyone who asked on the public site have been given good advice and contrary to what has been suggested, we don't have details on every car and it's unlikely that we could identify "a dog" that has not been discussed on other sites. Anyone who joins us is something of an enthusiast and tries to look after their cars and that's the only ones we really know about!
