EML coming on with no fault present?
My 54 plate ZT 1.8T has this morning decided to show its EML to me. I was expecting it at some point as the previous owner had informed me that the light came on intermittently, but no fault was stored on the diagnostic when queried. Does anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this to happen? There are no obvious issues, such as loss of power etc.

A loose earth or bad connection can cause this.
If a normal code reader is used it often doesn't read this fault but will clear it. A T4 is the only full way to check stored codes (unless of course you have had it checked that way). |

Thanks for your response John. Am I to assume that the T4 is a dealer only tool?

Generally Yes, but a few Non XPart dealers and some members have them.
I am sure a member in south wales purchased one recently, I'll have a look and see if i can find thread. |
