Clay Pigeon Shooting anyone?
My Wifes friend organised a Clay Pigeon Shoot for her Boyfriends Birthday last year and everyone involved had a great day. It was one of her relatives who she organised it with, he does Clay Pigeon Events for a living.
Therefore, I thought that it would be a great idea to see how many members would actually be interested before attempting to organise a meet / event. At the same time, I could locate a local Pub restaraunt and see about organising a lunch on the same day. Dates / Times and Prices will be organised later, but I just want to see what kind of Numbers would be interested first. The event would be held in the West Midlands area.

I would be up for that. I shoot every Sunday in Halifax so it would be nice to try a new ground.
Alternativley I would be happy to try and arrange a special shoot at our grounds if you don't get any joy down your way carlpenn.

I wouldn't mind trying it but I don't have a gun...OR a clue how to fire one safely

Paul if the gunclub that carl uses is anything like the gunclub that I attend, you will get tuition prior to shooting the clays, just a basic course in gun safety but very neccesary.

I would be interested in that, used to do an annual clay shoot at a previous company, not very good at it but very enjoyable.

I'd make a good impression of Vinnie Jones in the "Lock, stock and two smoking barrels" promotional adverts. |

As Raggity says, you will be given a Gun to use. What happened with us, we where given our Cartridges, then one at a time where talked through how to hold the Shotgun and then how to fire it etc. Gun safety was also explained to us. We then went off in 3 groups and used different Clays - Namely Rabbit (A Clay that whizzes along the floor on its edge) - Pigeon - Which was a Clay fired up in the air and then the Duck (or Skeet shoot) - Which was a Clay fired from the front and behind you. There was a "Competition" between us al land the winner, the person who hit most clays, was given a Certificate. At the end of the day, we where then given the opportunity to use .22 Air Rifles and got some target practice in with them As I said earlier it really is a good experience and a good laugh too.
