Default The club needs your help

Your club needs your help

The next national meet will be held on Sunday 4th May at Beaulieu which will include a presentation by Xpart which will be held in the lecture theatre at Beaulieu.

At the moment we do not have prices or any info until weekend after next but we do need help by those who may be going.

We are seriously considering making this a two day event. It will of course be possible for members to attend only on the Sunday if they so wish.

Saturday the 3rd of May we will be meeting around 1pm at Bucklers Hard in the New Forest and then all meeting up at a New Forest pub or hotel bar in the evening. The parking at Bucklers Hard will not be organised as there is a Caravan Club meeting taking place that day but I have been assured there will be plenty of parking space for us

Sunday normal club meet and all that entails.

Before we go ahead with the two day meet we would like to find out if the Saturday is welcome or would you prefer just the normal Sunday meet. We don't want to go ahead and plan something for the Saturday if its not wanted. We would love to do it if the numbers warranted it and the only way to do that is to run a poll of those members who would attend.

Please only respond to the above poll but if you have questions please feel free to ask on this thread. There will be some things that we can't answer as we don't know all the plans until the end of next week, we will try to answer as best we can though.

We are going to Beaulieu on Thursday of next week to finalise prices and locations so this poll will run until then and then close. Expect the news of the next meet to be posted up the following weekend.

Please note do not book hotels etc until we confirm the locations and prices in ten days time

Thanks for your help

Hi Ken, I have voted for the Sunday meet because as you will know this area is very popular over a bank holiday and I think it will be difficult the find any vacancies for a overnight stay it seems that even most of the caravan sites are fully booked

I understand that Derek, we were in two minds about making it a bank holiday weekend but decided to as it gives people a day to travel home afterwards.

We chose the first bank holiday weekend in May and not the second as we felt it may be a little quieter

I would come for both days if a hotel is available. Maybe if it's nice, all four of us may come down and camp somewhere nearby.

There will be hotels as Southampton has huge hotel bed space which is being built for the cruising industry and business use.

As for camping space as Derek has already pointed out the New Forest is very popular to get into at the last minute. As we will be posting up the meet info on the 24th of this month I can't see there being too much of a problem to find space. The last time we were at Beaulieu members managed to book early enough and that was for the later May bank holiday

Hope that helps

Both days will suit me fine. Finding accommodation sounds a bit tricky, but I'll make it somehow. I've thoroughly enjoyed previous meetings, and this one sounds even better. Thanks guys for all your efforts.
