12v Car polisher, how to use?

Having won a Halfords 12v random orbital car polisher at the Flixton meet raffle, I'm trying to work out how to use it

Always been a once before winter hand polisher!
It has 2 bonnets towelling and finishing.
The question, do you apply the polish with the polisher, or by hand 1st then polish off?
I was guessing the towelling bonnet is for application and the finishing for removal/final polish?
Would appreciate a run down on stages to do a proper job

I bought one from Halfords ages ago. 12" mains powered jobby.

I gave it away.

Anyway, best you use it for removing polish, once it's got the thick of it off, just a quick going over with a microfibre cloth by hand.

As mentioned not much cop at all, all it could help with is removal, but if what you use is thinly applied its still better and faster by hand.

Plenty of video's on Youtube showing you how to do it, just type in car polishing.

Yeah but the Halfords type are really gutless and pretty much useless. They cant be compared to the proper £80 and upwards (or £150 upwards in Halfords pounds) real rotary or Dual action polishers.

However they might be ok for removing easy to remove polishes and waxes. Useless for paint cleaning and cutting though.

Keep the head moving, dont dwell on one area, use a small amount of product, most people use way to much.
