Default service light reset

i need to reset my service light ive read befor about usesing a paper clip, am i remembering right that it is pins 4 and 8 on the diagnostic plug?
if so which was do the pins run? is it 1-8 on the top from left to right and then 9-16 on the bottem row left to right again?

id have sub already but truly hate paypal and never want to have to uses that dam scam
